Supervisor:


The Supervisor's Office duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sets and chairs all Township Board of Trustees meetings

Develops township budget

Appoints members of all boards and commissions

Legal Agent


In charge of supervising:

Code Enforcement

Building Department

Planning & Zoning

Senior Center

Parks

Waste Transfer Site

Hall Operations and Maintenance

Weather related closures

Candidate Roles

Clerk:

The clerk pays the township's bills, is the record keeper and election manager for the township as well as a voting member of the board.


The following is a list of duties as required by law:

Maintains all township records unless otherwise provided

Maintain general ledger of accounts

Records, maintains and publishes township meeting minutes

Keeps the township book of oaths

Responsible for special meeting notices

Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections

Keeps township ordinance book

Maintains complaint book


The Candidates:


- MARY SWIACKI (R) (INCUMBENT)

Treasurer:

The treasurer is the township’s accounts receivable department. All money that comes into the township must come in through the treasurer. The treasurer works closely with the clerk who is considered the township’s bookkeeper.


In addition to being a voting member of the board of trustees, a treasurer’s duties include the following:

Receives all receipts, deposits township revenue, and is a signer on all accounts

Collects taxes on behalf of the township and other tax-levying units

Calculate distributions for real and personal property taxes

Invests surplus funds in approved depositories

Prepares financial statements

Delivers tax certificates to township supervisor and county clerk prior to

   September 30th each year

Trustee:

The board of trustees acts as the township’s legislators and is required to vote on all issues. The board's primary responsibility is to guard the township’s financial health.


The board of trustees are responsible for adopting ordinances, adopting the budget and appointing most employees, boards, and commissioners including inspectors and fire department officers. Other duties include approving disbursements, authorizing contracts, adopting administrative policies and procedures, filling mid-term vacancies, and buying or selling township property.
